What is explore across borders ?

We believe exploring other cultures is the best way to understand and respect each other. Traveling and meeting others make us feel so little and challenge our vision of the world. It helps us develop ourselves and grow in a good way.

We created this blog to share our travel stories and inspire your own projects around the world.

Happy exploring! Lison & Mark

Who is behind explore across borders?

We are Lison and Mark, a french-dutch couple. We met in 2017 in Laos while traveling and sticked together ever since. Always looking for the next adventure, traveling and exploring is a huge part of our life and we love to share our stories and best tips!

LISON, THE FRENCH SIDE

Born in Alsace, I grew up between colorful half-timbered houses, gewurztraminer and never very far from the cathedral of Strasbourg, the castle of the Haut-Koenigsbourg or the smell of a tarte flambée...

Despite my love for my hometown, I've always been curious about the world beyond. I'm constantly seeking to explore other landscapes, experience different ways of life, and challenge myself.

My love for traveling started in 2016 when I decided to take a break from my studies and embarked on a solo journey between Australia and Southeast Asia. This was a life-changing experience for me. I learned so much about myself, about the world, I discovered new cultures, tasted new foods, and saw incredible sights...

As a stroke of fate, a few weeks before returning to France, I met Mark with whom I continue to explore across borders.

MARK, THE DUTCH SIDE

From when I was young, I never felt really connected to my surroundings. Maybe because of my strong urge to travel or because Holland is so damn flat. Traveling is like some sort of therapy, it puts a lot of things in perspective and makes you realize to be happy with what you have right now. My job as a physical therapist was not what i wanted to do forever so I started thinking more in creative ways to sustain myself. I like to capture the moment in a photograph or video. I picked up this hobby about three years ago when starting my first big trip and that is also the trip where I met Lison. In this blog I will show you guys more creative related content. My biggest hobby is surfing but holland it's not too great for that so when I am in a country where there are good waves, I wont leave till after sundown!
